provisional plan subject to change
Selected works will enter a formal and conceptual dialogue, opened by their placement in the exhibition space. The artists draw on a shared vocabulary of symbols including apples, needles, blood and the Sea. As authors and subjects of their works, they take ritualistic actions including cutting, threading, sculpting and inscribing, betraying their hands in the process of making. The display will draw attention to this and create a sense of intimacy through preparatory materials and abandoned scenes. For examples: Adon's storyboard sketches will accompany her film, Woman Without a Home. Hattab's poetry will animate his film, Houria. A vacant table setting will foreground Aboud's film, Stigmata.
